Mindfulness Meditation was brought to the west and secularised by Jon Kabatt Zinn. It has been widely practiced throughout the western world since the 1970s and has numerous health benefits. It is predominantly used for stress relief, anxiety issues, emotional well-being and for academic improvement however, it also believed to improve skin issues like eczema, help with irritable bowel syndrome, and numerous other health conditions, although some research is needed to confirm all these claims.

Elfreda has taught Mindfulness to a variety of organisations including the Irish Wheelchair Association, Navan branch, Cultúr Migrants Centre, Teachers of Robinstown National School and in numerous schools since 2014.
